A Somerset police officer was convicted of child sex offenses and sentenced following an investigation.

The court sentenced him on March 19. Gullis, age 28, was in Exeter Crown Court. He made indecent images of children, images that fell into categories A, B, and C. He also possessed prohibited images of children, as well as extreme pornography.
Police arrested him on December 22, 2023, and suspended him from his job that same day. A police department began another investigation concerning possible professional standards breaches, an investigation which is still ongoing alongside the criminal case.
Joanne Hall, an Assistant Chief Constable, stated the crimes are very serious. They launched a thorough investigation quickly and suspended him from duty fast. Now that he has a conviction, they will conclude their process to ensure he will not work in law enforcement. She added most officers are dedicated to public safety and serve their communities well, and are shocked by these crimes.
