Road closure signs near Dunster caused confusion. The Stag’s Head pub clarifies Dunster is open for business despite the works.

The A39 closure happens Sunday to Thursday evenings and lasts until April. The closure stops traffic entering Timberscombe, which is near Dunster. Signs last week made people unsure and they thought Dunster access was limited.
The Stag’s Head wanted to clear things up, stating the closure affects Timberscombe only. Dunster remains open, and evening businesses in Dunster are still operating; check for seasonal hours, though.
Dunster businesses told Wessex Water about the signs. The Stag’s Head said Wessex Water responded well and quickly helped fix the problem.
The Stag’s Head thanked Wessex Water and mentioned the sign on Dunster Steep. They asked for clarity about Dunster being open, and Wessex Water updated the sign quickly. The team earned a “10/10” rating.
Now, a sign says, “Dunster businesses open as usual” which you’ll see it on the A39 approaching Dunster. The Stag’s Head is located at 10 West St, Dunster and their address is Minehead, TA24 6SN.
