The Dolphin pub was in Wellington, Somerset. It changed a lot in recent years with updates to food, drinks, and even building work, as the pub tried to connect with the local community.

This pub closed around January 2020. Sleeps12.com Ltd bought it in August 2023, and Somerset Council approved new plans for the site. It will be a community space by March 2025 with offices and a three-bedroom house.

Anna Madams ran the pub before it closed. She redecorated it in 2013 with bright blue paint, which boosted business for a while. She decided to leave over five years ago in 2020.

Anna Madams said it never made much money, even though she had been running it for almost eight years. She even used her own money to support the Dolphin because the rent was high at almost £3,000 each month.

She brought in live music and quizzes, and imaginative food appeared on the menu. However, she felt like she could not keep going and needed to focus on her family and financial future, so The Dolphin closed.
