Somerset Sight hosted an event on February 11 in Taunton at Northfield House. Many longtime volunteers attended this special event.

The event featured several helpful presentations covering emotional support and tech help topics. Resources, the mobile service, and social groups were all discussed, as were the low vision clinic and visit program.

The goal was to make volunteers feel valued, and they appeared to really enjoy the event. One volunteer stated that helping is rewarding because they know their visits greatly assist someone.

Another volunteer described the charity as caring and brilliant, and they find immense joy in assisting them. This volunteer also mentioned feeling very supported.

Another volunteer stated that they like helping others and appreciate making someone’s day better. A service user also shared their thanks, discussing their assigned volunteer and how excellent they are.

The user said things are going very well and they could not have found someone better. Their volunteer is incredibly kind and accommodating.
