The local council plans big investments. They will spend £344.5 million in the area over the next twelve years.

Ayr will get £16 million for its square, while Girvan gets £1.5 million for improvements, and Dunure’s project gets £2.5 million. These funds will help match other donations.

The council will spend £26.1 million on roads also over twelve years. They want to improve roads a lot.

Over £107 million goes to health and social care this is nearly six percent more than before. The Health and Social Care Partnership benefits.

An old building, the former Hourstons building, will become a “care village.” Last year saw serious investments already.

There is work at the Citadel Leisure Centre now, and the Prestwick pool is improving too. Troon’s pool will grow soon, and Girvan’s sports field also gets upgrades.

Girvan is getting a new primary school. Additionally, Troon Primary School will have exterior upgrades. The plans for both schools are moving forward.

The council faces financial challenges now, so they are raising some fees, including fees for sports and leisure. Golf, allotments, and waste cost more too.

Council tax is going up by eight percent in 2025/26. This means £9.69 more each month for many homes.

Tax increases keep coming as officials expect eight percent more in 2026/27. A further six percent increase is planned in 2027/28.

Golf season tickets will cost £5 more per year, and adult green fees rise by £2 per round of golf. The council hopes to raise funds.

Using the 3G sports fields becomes pricier, with the hourly rate getting a £2 increase. This will generate more revenue.

Harbor fees will rise, and car park charges increase too. Bereavement costs and allotment fees are also going up.
