Stamford’s Cattlemarket Car Park is expanding for 146 more spaces after council approval.

The car park will add charging points, and accessible spaces are also planned. Currently, Stamford has 802 spaces spread across six car parks. The Cattlemarket site currently has 290 spots.
Richard Cleaver, a council member, spoke about the project, stating they want to help Stamford. Parking is limited in the town center, and existing parking does not meet demand, causing issues during peak visitor numbers.
He mentioned high car park usage, noting some car parks will reach full capacity. Few alternatives exist during busy times, as Stamford is a key tourist spot. The car park will boost the town’s economy, as it’s close to the town center.
A new bus stop is coming, too, to serve the train station. The bus stop will be at the car park entrance, and some parking spaces are closed during work.
