Local producers showcase goods, share success in trade show. Awards celebrate best businesses!

Natasha Dochniak from Hampshire Fare led a panel that included Haley Elston (the Codmother), Peter Morgan (The Book and Bucket Cheese), Samantha Blake (Isle of Wight Tomatoes), and Jo Coleman (Summerdown Farms).
Haley shared her success story of her fishcakes now sold in Aldi. Jo’s mint products are globally known and available everywhere. Peter’s cheese is served on Cunard cruises, while Samantha said flavor matters most to buyers.
The trade show has been running for 17 years, originally starting to get local food on cruise ships. Leigh-Sara Timberlake praised the event, saying it had a great vibe and that she was happy to see deals being made there.
Natasha said the show was inspiring, seeing passionate producers from the area. The show can help the region’s food industry, supporting quality, sustainability, and encouraging innovation.
The “Taste of the Central South” awards began with Wessex Country Gammons winning for branding. Isle of Wight Tomatoes won for their stand, and Otties won the taste award. Leigh said they wanted to celebrate the best businesses.
