Southern Hill Hospital is in Mundesley. It runs privately and has 53 beds. These beds are spread across five wards.

Reports say some staff may lose their jobs. Others are temporarily laid off now, and they likely won’t return to work soon. The hospital may reduce its number of beds, which the NHS often uses when needed.

The hospital’s management declined to comment and didn’t answer questions about the situation. Suzie Adam, the director of operations, said they would not comment on anything. The hospital didn’t confirm job losses or how many beds would close. They also didn’t offer reasons for changes, mentioning no plans to reduce the impact.

Steffan Aquarone is North Norfolk’s MP. He is now asking the hospital questions after people linked to the hospital, including patients and staff, told him about the plans. Aquarone’s office confirmed his awareness. Staff and patients contacted him directly too.

He wants a meeting with the hospital to learn what is really happening. The hospital has five specialist wards currently. Four wards are for men only. One ward is for women only; it has eleven beds. The care quality commission rates it “good,” having last inspected it in September 2024.
