Spaxton Community Stores celebrates its 10th anniversary, a testament to community support and careful planning!

The store is doing well ten years later. Careful planning really shows, and it reflects years of design work.
The shop has a Post Office inside. It also has a veranda with nice views from which you can see the Quantocks. The store sells basics like bread and milk, and they also have fresh fruit and vegetables. Newspapers arrive every day.
Spaxton Stores stayed open during COVID. For many, it was a real lifeline as staff delivered items to people’s homes. The shop helps the Spaxton community, employing a part-time manager with over forty volunteers.
The store has given money to local groups, including the village magazine and flower show. They also support the school and cricket club. The shop helps people connect with each other, and villagers know more people now.
Spaxton used to have more shops. The bakery closed after the war, and Kibby’s closed in the 1990s. The current store is at Four Forks.
