Specsavers Malton donated supplies to Ryedale Community Foodbank. The donation will help local families in need.

Rachel Patience works at Specsavers Malton. She said customers told them of the food bank and liked Ryedale Community Foodbank’s impact, which helps shape the local area.
Inspired by the food bank, Specsavers Malton pledged regular donations. They will donate every three months from now on, helping people get needed items.
Rachel said customer care matters at Specsavers. They tell customers about diet and eye health, and donating to the food bank felt right to them. Rachel believes everyone deserves good meals.
Basic items, like toiletries, also matter. She said poverty is closer than we think, and supporting others matters to her. The team worked together on this donation.
They look forward to their next one in May and hope to include even more essentials then. Our community needs these items.
Food banks see rising demand in the UK, with more people needing their services lately. Economic problems and rising costs hurt families, and many face financial difficulties now.
Ryedale Community Foodbank opened in April 2022. Volunteers saw food insecurity grow quickly, and they fed almost 9,000 in three locations since then: Malton, Pickering, and Kirkbymoorside.
Sue Fitter is a Ryedale Foodbank trustee. She is grateful for Specsavers’ donation, noting that the quarterly gift makes a real difference and many district residents benefit from this help.
Sue said costs keep rising for basic items, meaning more families need support because of it. Community donations help them provide assistance, and these contributions are a lifeline.
Even small help makes a big impact. Check your cupboards for extra food items and add essentials to your shopping for others nearby. Donations make a real difference.
