Crime data reveals increases on trains, decreases at St Albans station. Bike theft high, violent offenses down.

Stations had 148 crimes, while trains had 55 crimes. On-train crime went up from 0.83 to 1.48 incidents per 100,000 passengers.
“Other theft” jumped significantly on trains, going from 12 to 32 incidents. Public order incidents also increased, and theft saw a small rise. Station crime numbers went down overall, dropping from 4.51 to 3.97.
Bike theft led station crimes, with 73 recorded incidents, fewer than last year. Violent and sexual offenses greatly decreased, going from 23 to only five.
Vehicle crime rose to 14 incidents, shoplifting had 11, and public order incidents had 10 cases. All these saw an increase. St Albans City station hosts a large volume of people, serving 3,725,715 passengers each year.
