After a fatal house fire in St Albans, Casey Hennessey is remembered by his brother for his kindness and unwavering spirit.

He was a family man; a father, uncle, and brother. Casey was also a great uncle and grandson. Emergency services worked hard but could not save him, and they pronounced him dead at the scene.
Casey leaves behind his son, JJ, who is five years old. His dog, Max, will also miss him. A large extended family appreciated Casey’s smile and loved his positive outlook.
His brother is Jason Swaryczewkski. Jason spoke about Casey’s life, noting Casey lived in St Albans for a long time. Jason said the family has received many messages.
Jason mentioned how much Casey’s death hurts. Casey grew up on Lower Paxton Road, living there with his mom and grandma. He went to Aboyne Lodge and Beaumont School.
Casey always cared for his grandma. She was very important to him, and he called her “Nana Moon,” like a character from Eastenders. Casey liked to joke around.
Besides caring for his grandma, Casey had a job doing gardening and handy work. He hired others who needed work. In August 2024, a car hit Casey on the M3. The accident put him in critical condition, and doctors called his survival a miracle.
He walked Max three months later. Casey struggled mentally after the crash, but he had people who supported him. He loved spending time with his family and met his brothers every weekend. His son meant everything to him.
Casey was a kind person who would give his last pound to someone in need. Jason started a GoFundMe page to help with funeral costs. People have donated over £2,300.
The family wants to scatter his ashes at sea in Southend. They did this for his mother fifteen years ago. Casey faced freezing weather for his mother, and his brother said this showed his character.
Family called him “kindheart Casey,” as he did odd jobs for neighbors for free. Jason saw flowers at the site. Seeing the flowers touched him deeply, and a man and his kids brought more flowers, which showed how much people cared.
Funeral arrangements are still pending. The family welcomes anyone to pay their respects and appreciates everyone’s support.
