Casey Hennessey, 37, passed away in a fire. His brother shared a touching tribute, highlighting his kindness.

He was a father, uncle, brother, great-uncle, and grandson. Casey leaves behind his son JJ, who is only five years old, and his dog Max will miss him. He had a large, loving family too, and they all loved his smile and appreciated his positive attitude.
His brother, Jason Swaryczewkski, spoke about Casey’s life, noting that Casey lived in St Albans for a long time. Jason said they received many messages, and Casey’s death left a huge family void.
Casey grew up on Lower Paxton Road, living with his mom and grandma. He went to Aboyne Lodge and Beaumont School. He cared deeply for his grandmother, calling her “Nana Moon,” like a character in Eastenders, and he always liked to joke around.
Casey helped others find work, doing gardening and handy work. Then, a car hit him in August 2024 on the M3. He was seriously hurt back then, and doctors called his survival a miracle; he was walking his dog three months later.
The car crash affected him mentally, but he had loved ones for support. Casey always made time for family, meeting with his brothers every weekend, and he cherished time with his son, who meant everything to him.
Jason called Casey very kind, stating he would give his last dollar away. Jason started a GoFundMe for funeral costs, which has raised over £2,300 so far. The family wants to scatter his ashes at sea, as they did for his mother fifteen years ago.
Casey took his mother’s ashes into the cold sea, which Jason said showed his character. People called him “kindheart Casey,” a nickname given by neighbors and family, as he helped many people for free. Jason saw flowers people left him.
Jason visited the site on February 27th, and seeing the flowers touched him deeply. One man brought his children to leave flowers, and Jason learned how much Casey meant to people. Funeral plans are still in progress, and everyone is welcome to pay respects, with the family appreciating all the support.
