Churchyard upgrades in Watford are underway, adding play areas, paths, and nature spots for community enjoyment.

Watford’s mayor, Peter Taylor, visited the site recently and said progress looked good. Improving open spaces matters to him, and he believes the churchyard project makes Watford better.
The goal is creating a place for everyone, allowing for play, reflection, and nature. Taylor worked with the church and students, and he is eager to see the project finished.
The revitalized space will have play areas, and a new path around the church opens soon. A special quiet area is planned for reflection.
The entrance will be greener, featuring new seats and paving. They are adding bollards and special surfaces; the upper level uses rubber and resin.
The landscaping brings wildflowers to the area, while birdhouses and bug hotels will attract wildlife. These changes boost nature in the town center.
Police priorities last year included street drinking, which occurred in and around the churchyard. Police have dedicated resources to fix this problem.
The council hopes to draw more people, believing that a nicer area might reduce bad behavior. The improvement should create a family-friendly green space.
College students helped with design ideas. They shared their visions for the new churchyard.
