Select Car Leasing donated a Volkswagen ID.3 to St Michael’s Hospice, benefiting North Hampshire patients and staff.

Chris Griffiths, the hospice’s operations director, called the car “game-changing” for the team. He expressed gratitude to Select Car Leasing. The new VW ID.3 benefits doctors, nurses, and support staff.
The car simplifies life for the hospice’s team at home, providing staff with a dependable vehicle. They no longer need to use their own cars when visiting patients. Select Car Leasing is based in Reading.
They have supported St Michael’s Hospice since 2021, initially donating a Vauxhall Grandland X. Mark Tongue, CEO of Select Car Leasing, said the hospice gives great care to patients.
The hospice cares for families yearly, and many Select Car Leasing staff were touched by the care. They continue to support the hospice, and Mark Tongue’s team will offer more help later. Operating the hospice costs £15,000 daily.
The NHS provides less than 16% of the hospice’s funds, so St Michael’s relies on donations. They also generate income from their ten charity shops, which are located across North Hampshire.
The hospice’s National Insurance payments increased by one hundred thousand pounds this year, stemming from changes in the Autumn Budget. Chris is optimistic about the hospice’s future, but financial reserves are not limitless.
St Michael welcomes financial help from others. Chris emphasizes that getting care right is crucial because hospices only have one chance to help people. People die daily, which is unfortunate, and without the hospice, local NHS services would struggle.
