Hexham’s Stalida Taverna hosted a charity event, raising £417 for Tynedale Hospice through its “Greek Winter Escape.”

The hospice offers home-based care. They support adults needing palliative care. This also includes those in treatment and helps people with pre or post grief support. They serve West Northumberland, Tynedale, and Ponteland.
Billy and Selena met in Crete back in 2001. They ran a restaurant named ‘Maistrali’ which was by the sea. In 2011, they moved back to the UK.
They started “Billy Bites” in Hexham. Later, in 2016, they opened Stalida, where they offer authentic Greek food. Stalida held its second January event and have raised over £750 in two years.
Matthew Crowe thanked Stalida and their patrons. He noted their ongoing support, stating that the funds help the hospice care for families.
The evening was a sell-out event where guests enjoyed Greek dishes. They also helped a local cause. Tynedale Hospice thanked the restaurant staff, all volunteers, and attendees; which truly ensured the event’s success.
