Paul Railton got a long prison sentence. A court in Durham gave him over eight years. He helped run a drug network that dealt in class A and B drugs.

Police watched Railton for almost a year in a secret operation. From late 2018 to mid 2019, he moved drugs from the North West to the North East.

Railton got arrested in 2020. He admitted guilt later in court after police interviewed him and others related to the drug network. He conspired to supply drugs, twice.

He will be in prison for 8 years and 4 months. Police said the probe paid off well, hurting a criminal group. Drug supply causes harm to people and fuels violence.

Drug money funds other serious crimes, like drug supply and slavery. Durham police will keep hunting drug dealers, working together with other groups.
