Kai Harrison admitted to bad behavior on Glencairn Street in Stevenston. He also acted badly in a police car that travelled to Crosshouse Hospital, and continued at Kilmarnock police office.

The 20-year-old went to court on February 17 for his sentencing after pleading guilty to his actions on August 17. He yelled, swore, and kicked a door, also acting in an aggressive way that day.

Harrison admitted to hurting a man by spitting on his head and body. He also bit the man repeatedly, causing injury. Harrison is from Kerelaw Avenue in Stevenston.

He fought violently with police officers and made threats to them, also hitting his head on the police car’s inside. A man was asleep in his house when Harrison was kicking the door, shouting, and swearing at 3 AM.

The man had his partner call the police. He went outside to face Harrison, who was pacing. He asked Harrison to leave, but he and a neighbor instead tried to restrain him. Harrison spat and bit one man on the arm.

Police arrived and arrested Harrison, taking him to Crosshouse Hospital. He threatened officers there before they took him to Saltcoats police office. His lawyer said he had no prior convictions and stated, “He doesn’t know what he was doing.”

The lawyer thinks someone spiked his drink, admitting his behavior was strange. He did not know the people in the house and called it an aberration. He works full time and is mortified, knowing it’s serious.

The Sheriff called it a serious matter and found his behavior astonishing, especially for someone without prior trouble. Harrison must pay £500 to the man he bit and will be on curfew for five months, staying home between 7 PM and 5 AM.
