Elizabeth’s Embroidery, a Stockton school uniform provider, closes after 35 years leaving customers shocked.

Their online statement expressed love and gratitude, hoping customers remember them fondly. Elizabeth’s Embroidery stated they closed immediately and that other companies will take over contracts, contacting schools and businesses accordingly.
Existing orders will still be fulfilled when possible. The company asks for patience during this difficult time, thanking past and present customers and staff. The store will not respond to comments or messages.
The shop had a location on Richardson Road and opened a new store in Wellington Square in 2019. Elizabeth’s was a key school uniform provider, serving nurseries, schools, colleges, and universities. Lisa, Elizabeth and Paul’s daughter, ran the business, as her parents had semi-retired earlier.
News of the closure caused sadness online. One person’s first job was at Elizabeth’s collection point and they appreciated the opportunity the business gave them. Another person worked there for ten years doing alterations, and said they would miss the fantastic people there. The business employed over fifty people.
