Hey, listen to this news from Stourport. They closed that town center car park for good on February 16. The council put up a barrier before it closed. They secured the site with barriers.

Their team finished this work on February 19. The council then said something else happened there. Someone unlawfully removed two bollards. This happened at the car park on Tuesday. They reported this incident. West Mercia Police are aware.

The council took the car park off its parking list. They did this after talking with people. Wyre Forest District Council managed all of this. The council planned to close it. They will sell the site too.

They couldn’t find a good development plan. The situation was not looking good. They bought the land from Lloyds Garages long ago. The council wanted it to be a gateway. It was supposed to lead to historic canal areas.

The council says the car park was always temporary. They think there is enough parking. Other car parks can handle more. Over 600 people objected to closing it.

People worried about businesses hurting. Some wanted it kept as a car park. This would be until a canal plan starts.
