Council re-secures Stourport car park after unlawful removal of bollards. Police are investigating the incident.

Someone actually sawed off two bollards on Tuesday night. It was illegal! They reported the whole thing to the police. The council mentioned someone removed bollards unlawfully.
The incident is with West Mercia Police now. They’re securing the old car park again. This will stop anyone else from getting in there.
The council asked folks about removing the car park. Last year, they shared the car park closure plans. They couldn’t find a good development for it before. The car park’s temporary permit ended February 16th.
The council got the land from Lloyds Garages long ago. It was meant to be a canal basin gateway. The council thinks there’s enough parking around.
They said the Bridge Street car park was always temporary. Over 600 people didn’t want it to close, though. Folks worried about the effect on local businesses. Some wanted it to stay a car park. They want it there until canal basin plans happen.
