Fiona Hyslop opened the Stow Station House after renovations, a project by Stow Community Trust. It features new amenities.

The Borders Railway reopened in 2015. The Trust saved the station from closure and finished the project in 2021, winning awards. They ran it for three years and held over 850 community events.
Andrew Glover became the tenant, opening a bar and restaurant. The station house now has food and drinks, helping the local community. The railway boosts communities in Scotland and impacts the whole economy.
Stow station sits on the Borders Railway, with trains running from Edinburgh to Tweedbank every half hour. This offers local people access to the capital. Hyslop mentioned the railway’s tenth anniversary.
The station exemplifies community and railway teamwork, serving and helping the local area. Hyslop thanked everyone involved, especially the Trust and volunteers who made the renovation possible.
Stow Station House is a success story, supported by the community as an award-winning project. The government helped with funding, providing places to eat and a cycle hub.
This benefits both locals and tourists. The building celebrates Stow’s heritage and creates local jobs, helping the area’s well-being economically and socially.
Grace Murray, chair of the Stow Community Trust, said the community feels proud of the station. They are pleased to have the new restaurant and bar. The Trust gained confidence from the project.
They look forward to future community projects, supporting their thriving community through teamwork.
