Police increase patrols on Kiln Lane due to drivers ignoring restrictions during A1088 bridge repairs in Stowlangtoft.

They first complained about rat-running back in June. Remember, repairs started on July 22 on the A1088 bridge.
Police warned people in December. Now, they’re patrolling more. People still ignore the “No Entry” signs, apparently.
Stowmarket Police want drivers to follow the official detour routes. They said the signs are super clear. You saw the photo, right?
There’s a “No Entry” at the Walsham Road end. The speed limit is 30 mph everywhere there. This protects the road and that bridge.
It’s not a one-way street though. Police will keep checking until the restrictions end. They will enforce those rules strictly.
Locals have reported damage. The extra traffic is ruining grass and making potholes worse. The road is literally falling apart because of it.
That bridge project is frustrating people. Businesses saw fewer customers. The detour uses the A1088, A14, and A143 instead now.
They first aimed to finish up in December. But, SuffolkNews said there were concrete problems. Now they plan to finish by March 7 anyway.
