A mother in Poole experienced a terrifying ordeal when an intruder broke into her home and attempted to kidnap her baby.

Mary McCann went outside for a quick smoke at her home in Poole, Dorset. Then, a strange woman walked right into her house and unbuckled Mary’s baby from the pram, and tried to run out the back door.
A family member saw the strange woman and asked Mary if she knew her. Mary did not know the intruder, so she ran inside to get her baby back.
Mary spoke with the Bournemouth Echo newspaper and shared that the woman even knew her name. She told Mary’s daughter she was a sitter. Mary felt like she was in a horror movie, unsure of what the woman would do.
Mary called the police while the strange woman remained inside her house because the woman showed aggressive behavior.
Police got a call around 2:46 p.m. on February 7 about the incident on Waxwing Drive in Poole, reporting that a woman had entered a house and grabbed a child.
The police confirmed the child stayed at the house and wasn’t hurt during this event. Officers came fast and arrested a woman in her 30s who was connected to the incident.
The woman is now out on bail and has been sent by police to get mental health care, ensuring she is in the correct facility.
