Lots of things are happening around the Five Valleys. There are stories, songs, and tree planting. Needlework and cheese events are also on. Play Circle launches a new album on Saturday. They will host events at Brimscombe Mill.
Stroud Library has storytelling on Mondays at 10 AM. Sign up online, or talk to library staff. Daisy Burt hosts a folk song circle at the Prince Albert. It happens this month for its February session. Everyone is welcome to join this event.
Alistair, the mobile barber, is at Brimscombe Mill. You can pay what you can for a haircut. Booking is best, but walk-ins might work. Stroud Valleys Project keeps planting trees, and you can help. Go to Hammond’s Farm in Wick Street to plant. Book a spot and dress for any weather.
A band from London plays at the Albert. They play electro-disco-punk music. It’s free on Friday night. The music combines disco with punk.
The Playcircle team has a new album. It’s called Seasons Go Round. They have special events at the Long Table. The whole family can join at 1 PM, 2:30 PM, and 4 PM. The Mother Folkers perform at 7:30 PM that night.
Sue McNamara teaches hand-stitching techniques. It’s a six-week course at the Museum in the Park. You need some basic sewing skills already. This course is all about calm and companionship.
Jerry the Cheese hosts a cheese club. It’s at the Salutation Inn near Berkeley. It happens on the last Thursday of each month. You get to taste five great cheeses. Each one is paired with a drink. The theme this month is winter cheeses. Booking is a very good idea.
