Photo contest winners showcase beauty of Black Down & Hindhead. Jane Puttock & Sarah Stansbury take top prizes.

Jane Puttock won the top prize! Her close-up shot of red lichen was amazing. It was taken at Swan Barn Farm, and the judges loved her unique perspective.
Sarah Stansbury won the junior prize too. Her photo was a peaceful viewpoint scene, capturing the warm light of a summer day.
Jane and Sarah collected their prizes after the event. The awards happened over at Raymond Reid Photo, and Bob Daniels and Brian Simmons gave them out. Each winner received a cool prize pack, including a framed photo, a photo mug, and a cash voucher.
Hana Gamlin placed second in the adult group. Her photo featured a swampy scene, perfectly fitting the “green” theme, and the judges liked it a lot.
Louise Shanks took second in the junior group, and Jacob Ormesher earned third. They photographed Devil’s Punchbowl and Black Down. Both entries were great.
The judges talked about Jane’s entry a bit more. Her photo had rotten wood and lichen, so they thought it looked amazing together. She also got third place.
Sarah’s lovely photo impressed the judges. They thought her photo could have won the adult prize, stating that simplicity is sometimes better.
