Sue Ryder is having an event called Lap the Lake. It will be on Saturday, May 10. You can swim in Reading Lake at Hi5 Ski School in Reading. You can swim 500m, 750m, or 1km.

This event will raise money for Sue Ryder, which runs the South Oxfordshire Palliative Care Hub. The event is before International Nurses Day on May 12, and the money will help Sue Ryder nurses provide expert care to people who need it.

Ashni Parmar, a senior fundraiser at Sue Ryder, is excited about Lap the Lake because it helps people support their cause. Every swim helps provide care to those who need it.

Anna Hassall, a volunteer coordinator, will also participate. Anna loves to support Sue Ryder’s work, and as a keen swimmer, this event suits her, even though she usually swims in a warm pool.

Anna swims three times a week to prepare for the cold water. She has never done open-water swimming, but is eager to try it, saying a new challenge is great.

Knowing she is helping motivates her to support people facing grief. Hot chocolate and seeing her proud kids will also help. Teams of five or more get a discount, and the top fundraiser gets a Dryrobe item as a reward.

People 18 and older can participate. The event suits both new and seasoned swimmers. Sue Ryder says everyone can find something, whether it’s a new challenge or a typical swim.
