Suffolk Highways withdraws objections to Ipswich revamp after receiving detailed plans addressing earlier concerns.

They will add green spaces and public art. Digital billboards are also planned, along with shrinking the taxi rank from 21 spaces to 11.
Suffolk Highways had some concerns. They wanted wider pavements and also asked about lighting and seating.
The council and KLH Architects responded by sending almost 50 documents. These documents gave more details and addressed highway committee issues.
The roads authority had some prior issues. They reviewed new information, which addressed their earlier concerns, and the county no longer objects to the plan.
The county also stated a condition: The council must follow highway guidelines. This includes construction and safety procedures, and they must perform audits.
Neil MacDonald believes changes will help. He said it should bring more people, hopefully increasing foot traffic and boosting business in the area.
MacDonald wants Lloyds Avenue improved. He sees it as a gateway to the town centre and thinks the arches will welcome people.
The taxi rank changes caused some issues. Taxi drivers were not happy about it and complained about the smaller rank.
