New owl enclosure at Stonham Barns Park lets visitors get closer to majestic birds of prey during half-term.

Suffolk Owl Sanctuary, located at Stonham Barns Park, unveiled a new home for burrowing owls. Templeton and Thelma are the first residents, moving in during the half-term holiday.
The charity provides care for injured birds of prey. They house over 80 birds, including falcons, vultures, and owls.
The sanctuary specifically built a new home for Templeton and Thelma, the burrowing owls. In the wild, burrowing owls utilize burrows, often created by ground squirrels.
The new enclosure features an intricate network of tunnels. The owls appear to enjoy their new habitat, actively exploring the space.
During half-term, visitors explored a display theatre and watched indoor owl flights. Kids also participated in a bird activity sheet for a chance to win an animal adoption.
The avian trainer is pleased to welcome visitors to the sanctuary. The new indoor space offers comfortable bird watching, especially during the winter months.
Visitors have the opportunity to learn about the animals. They can also observe each animal’s unique characteristics and behaviors.
The sanctuary is open throughout the year and features a nature center. Visitors can also walk through the woodland where meerkats, porcupines and squirrels reside, and learn at the education centre. There, they can also observe bug hotels.
