Suffolk police seized over £300K of cannabis, arresting seven and charging five after executing six warrants.

They executed six warrants in Suffolk and arrested seven people. Five people now face charges. Police took 1,453 cannabis plants and seized six kilos of packaged cannabis too. Cops also grabbed cannabis growing equipment.
Tim Passmore is Suffolk’s Police Commissioner. He is happy about the focus on cannabis production and thinks drugs hurt society. He disagrees with relaxing cannabis laws and sees links between crime and illegal cannabis growth.
Drug crime needs teamwork. Suffolk works with a special unit called Eastern Region Special Operations to target this crime together.
Detective Inspector James Cassedy spoke about the raids. He said his teams worked very hard and disrupted organized cannabis production in Suffolk.
They grabbed over £300,000 worth of cannabis. Police significantly hurt criminal groups aiming to keep their criminal businesses going. Cannabis is just one part of their crimes. These groups also import harder drugs and might use slavery and violence. Police gathered data to fight future crime, which will help protect people at risk.
