North Wales Superkids get £400 boost from Andy Dunbobbin, Police and Crime Commissioner, during Mold visit.

Margaret Williams started it in 1999 to bring joy. They give gifts at Christmas and provide fun experiences all year.
Andy Dunbobbin visited them at the Old Library on Raikes Lane on February 13, meeting the team. A police officer suggested the award, aiming to help community projects where extra funding can truly help.
Their Toy Box Appeal is important; it gives gifts to underprivileged kids at Christmas living across North Wales. People donate toys in collection boxes out in November and December, and these donations help a lot.
Volunteers collect, sort, and bag these donations, getting them ready for giving. Each bag has toys and gifts matching the child’s age and hobbies, chosen with care.
Professionals working locally refer families to the project when they recognize a need for help. They refer the family for support, and each child then gets gifts at Christmas, receiving their own sack of presents.
Andy Dunbobbin met Jade Storey, Trish Flynn, and Donna Owens, a trustee, discussing the charity’s work. The team provides Christmas presents but works all year long, also helping families with holidays.
Dunbobbin was happy to meet them and learn about their work helping needy kids in North Wales. He was glad to support their work using his seasonal community fund; Superkids is there when needed, made possible by volunteers, and Margaret Williams started something great.
Jade Storey is grateful for the donation, which will greatly help the Toy Box Appeal. North Wales Superkids runs on volunteers who want to change kids’ lives.
In 2024, 2,050 kids got Christmas gifts thanks to Superkids. Many families need support here, which is quite sad.
They can only help thanks to donations, along with support from local businesses whose generosity makes a difference. They gave 1,000 Easter eggs to children, and 20 families enjoyed free holidays thanks to their holiday project.
