A 20km bell boat paddle event with food and auctions raises funds for Boys in Mind, honoring Benedict Swan’s memory.
They’re raising money for Boys in Mind. This charity helps young men with mental health, aiming to break the stigma. They had already raised £3,241 before March 15.
More bell boats became available to them. Other companies and groups can now join them. Afterwards, they host the event at Eckington Recreation Centre, they shared.
Businesses are donating prizes, which helps a lot.
They are amazed by the support from everyone. It’s touching that people care so much. The event has gone beyond what they expected, and raising extra money makes them happy.
Bell boating was their first idea to raise funds, something they did with Benedict every year before. It was a trip they always took together, even though she expressed that they are not very athletic.
Benedict was funny, smart, and thoughtful. The support they’ve seen feels unbelievable to them. He’d be proud of what they accomplished. They want to make the event huge.
