Gas main repairs trigger 11 weeks of temporary traffic lights on High Street. Expect delays, parking changes.

Work starts Monday, February 17. It should take about eleven weeks, so it might finish in early May. SGN needs to fix some gas leaks. These works are important for safety.
Engineers can’t fix leaks permanently anymore. They will replace 345 meters of gas pipe. Three temporary traffic lights will be there. The junction near numbers 353 to 349 will close for the engineers’ facilities.
Bus stops will be affected, too. Contact your bus company for updates on stops. Bin collection days usually stay the same. Dorset Council will notify you if it changes.
Expect parking restrictions on the street. Signs and cones will guide drivers. You can still get to businesses and homes. SGN knows the lights will cause problems. They want to finish the job fast and safely.
