Alfie Thomas avoids prison with a suspended sentence for dealing crack cocaine and heroin in Swindon.

The crimes happened between December 2022 and May 2023. Thomas used his phone for drug deals, calling his mom and brother, and even ordering taxis.
He first denied dealing drugs, a denial the lawyer called pointless. Thomas later admitted to the charges and pleaded guilty in June 2023.
His lawyer said he acted under someone’s orders. The crimes occurred before his 18th birthday. He stayed out of trouble since then.
Thomas has no prior convictions. He moved to Ludgershall to start over. The judge knew Thomas faced homelessness and played a minor role. Others took advantage of him.
The judge warned about the harm drugs cause and said Thomas could rehabilitate. He considered mitigating factors for sentencing and wanted him to get support. He did not want to send a young man to prison.
Thomas received a suspended two-year prison sentence, meaning he won’t go to jail right now. But he must complete 200 hours of unpaid work, pay £187, and attend rehabilitation for ten days.
The judge said following the order ends the matter. He emphasized it was up to Thomas now.
