Holi is a Hindu spring festival. It celebrates good winning over evil, and people call it the “festival of colors.” Every year, people gather to celebrate; they sing, dance, eat good food, and throw colors.

The colors used are powder paint and colored water. Holi has old religious roots, but now many see it as inclusive. People of all backgrounds celebrate worldwide, as the bright paints unite everyone.

Holi is coming back to Swindon, full of color. In 2024, over 1,000 people gathered in Town Gardens, and organizers expect even more people this year. Swindon Holi 2025 will be on March 16, Sunday.

The event occurs at Town Gardens Bowl, which they call the “biggest celebration in Swindon.” You can expect DJs and food stalls there, as well as selfie spots and lots of color.

All ages and backgrounds are welcome at Holi. Ash Singhal spoke at the 2024 event, saying everyone looks the same at Holi. People simply enjoy themselves together, and he wants to foster that human spirit.

Tickets cost £11 per person to attend Holi, and it is free for those under five years old. A family ticket, for two adults and two kids, costs £28. People should also bring their own water pistols.

Tickets are limited and sell out fast. You can buy powder paint sachets for £1, available at the event and online. Purchase yours when booking on the Swindon Hindu Centre website.
