Swindon faces a shortage of EV chargers compared to its electric vehicle numbers, a new study reveals.

The Isles of Scilly are in the worst shape, as they don’t have any public charging stations at all. Beck Evans, a car dealer, did this research, looking at the charger to car ratio across the UK.
This study shows a real problem; more people drive electric cars now, but we need more places to charge them. Swindon has 179 public chargers, serving over 46,000 vehicles.
Slough is a little worse than Swindon, with 91 chargers for over 33,000 cars. Windsor and Maidenhead are also struggling, as they have 155 chargers for nearly 59,000 cars.
Stockport has the most electric cars in the country; almost 96,000 electric vehicles use just 100 chargers. The Isles of Scilly has 47 registered electric cars, yet they still have zero public chargers.
