Taunton Pub The Waggon Set to Reopen Under New Management

The Waggon pub in Taunton is reopening. It’s been closed for about two months, and new management will run the pub. Locals may return since it honored regulars.

Rich and Terri Hudson are the new team. They have lots of experience in the bar business. The couple also runs Mainline Spirit, a distillery also in Taunton, and plan to use their own distillery for drinks.

The Waggon will reopen February 28 at 4 PM. Enter through the left side lounge bar; it was once called the Waggon and the Horses pub. The pub forecasts a £382,838 yearly turnover.

The Hudsons want a community feel. Friday is their soft launch, and they aim for a traditional pub. Regulars are very important to them. Memorial plaques were once above the bar.

The plaques are now gone, but the Hudsons did not remove them. They want to replace the plaques honoring past regulars and ask for plaque photos or photos of the people.

The grand opening is on Saturday, March 15. It’s “Super Saturday” for rugby fans, and all rugby games will be shown. Food vendors might be in the carpark, and the sports bar will be open then.

Sadly, the skittle alley is damaged badly, and it will stay closed for repair. You find the Waggon at Dorchester Rd, Taunton, TA2 7JN. Contractors must fix the alley problems first.
