Somerset residents can join a liver study, led by Dr. Jobson. They aim to find liver problems early. The team will check old blood tests and will contact people to join. Data will then be used to create a screening tool.
A Taunton footpath between Buckland and Adcombe Roads will close soon. Patching work will begin on March 3 and last until March 11. Work is scheduled from 8 AM to 5 PM, as there’s currently no alternate route.
Churchfields in Wellington will close, starting at the junction of Longforth Road. Openreach needs to lay ducting there. The work starts March 3 and should take six hours total. See diversion routes at one.network.
The Ombudsman discovered fault with the council specifically involving kids’ services and education. The council must respond in three months. They must say what they plan to do, and the full report, which is free, is now available.
Parking rule changes are coming, and they affect several Somerset areas, including Taunton, Wellington, and Bishops Hull. You can object until March 6 by emailing your concerns to the council.
Taunton will soon implement parking permits in the Addison Grove area. Permits are needed Monday to Saturday from 8 AM to 8 PM. A first permit costs £60 and a second permit costs £100 per year.
