The Restaurant Guru awarded Mattancherry a “Recommended” certificate, highlighting its 4.5-star rating. In 2024, it won “Restaurant of the Year” for Bristol, Bath, and Somerset. Further cementing its reputation, TripAdvisor gave it a 2024 Traveller’s Choice award, and William Sitwell has praised their Indian food.
Gopi commended the expert staff, emphasizing their effective teamwork. He and Loganathan were surprised by the restaurant’s early success. Since then, Mattancherry’s popularity has steadily increased.
Taunton’s community played a significant role in their growth, amplified by William Sitwell’s visit. Gopi noted that locals consistently recommend Mattancherry on Facebook. Regular customers have also supported them for ten years.
Loganathan said they are proud of the positive recommendations. They want to share authentic Indian culture with their patrons. He added that people are starting to embrace new and exciting flavors, and Gopi said people travel from afar to enjoy the food.

Their Valentine’s Day dinner event is already sold out, featuring a special menu. This includes prosecco, appetizers, and multiple starters. The meal will also offer fish, sorbet, a main course, and a selection of desserts.
Mattancherry will celebrate its tenth anniversary in August 2025. Gopi and Loganathan are planning a big surprise event to mark the occasion and expect to host the anniversary within the year.
