Police investigate incidents of anti-social behaviour involving youths at several stores in Taunton.

Officers got a call about a problem around 7:30 p.m. at a Sainsbury’s on Billet Street. The group was gone when police arrived. They threw things, were loud, and were being quite rude.
Another store on East Reach had trouble too; teens banged on doors and windows there. ASDA on Creechbarrow Road had issues at 8:30 p.m. People threw stock and yelled at staff, and someone even spat on a staff member’s face.
Police watched and broke up the group using the council’s security cameras. Several kids were there that night. Police will talk to them and their guardians.
Officers still investigate these incidents and gather evidence from those affected. Sergeant Andrew Gloyn spoke about the issue, mentioning that most young folks respect the town. However, a few kids cause problems, showing unacceptable, antisocial behavior.
The police want to identify these kids and help them change their behavior, involving other groups and the town. Trouble that continues might go to court, and kids could end up in the Youth Justice Unit.
