Attorneys conclude arguments in the trial of Daryl Taylor, 33, accused of sexual offenses against underage girls in Ipswich.

Daryl Taylor faces six charges: two involving sexual activity with girls under 15, and four involving sexual assault. One girl was under 13. He denies all the charges.
The sexual activity charges involve intimate touching. He allegedly touched two girls. The sexual assault charges are similar, occurring against one girl.
The prosecutor, Andrew Thompson, spoke to the jury. He said the girls felt uncomfortable and believed the incidents shouldn’t have happened. Fear made them delay reporting.
Thompson stated Taylor gave alcohol to a girl during one incident, making her sick. He believes the girls were honest, arguing that lies would lack specific details. He added the girl described aggressive touching, quick and forceful, that “grossed her out.”
Kate Davey is defending Taylor. She questioned the girls’ stories, saying their accounts were inconsistent, particularly mentioning a date change. The girls initially said 2021, later changing it to 2020, which Davey thinks they did together.
Davey stated the girls contradict each other and aren’t believable. The date change was unfair to Taylor, she argued, and suggested someone else gave the alcohol, or perhaps the kids stole it themselves. The alleged assault victim seemed unsure, and she might have overthought it.
The trial will continue tomorrow.
