A teacher is organising a run to support a hospice after a break in resulted in £1,500 being stolen.

The safe held £1,500 meant for patient care. A 5k run will happen on Saturday to raise money for the hospice and will take place within the borough.
Bethany Cunliffe, a teacher from Ainsworth in Bolton, organized the run. The funds will go to the hospice, a cause very important to her. Ben Stanton’s running club, “Out and About with Stants”, will lead the run, starting at 9am at Charlie Bakes on Holcombe Road in Greenmount.
Bethany felt devastated about the theft. She wants to help the hospice recover the lost money, as the NHS funds only 13% of the hospice’s needs, with donations and income covering the rest.
Anyone can join the run, regardless of their fitness level. People can walk or run; there won’t be any pressure, making it a nice way to help the community together. A £5 donation to their JustGiving page is requested, which gets you a raffle ticket and entry to the run.
Charlie Bakes offers discounts to all participants, providing coffee and cake after the run. Bethany has a strong connection to the hospice, as her grandfather, Jack, received care there at the end of his life.
The hospice provided amazing care for her grandpa, ensuring his comfort before he passed away, and also supports grieving families. She wants others to receive the same great care, and giving back is one way to make it happen.
Join the run, donate if you can, and have fun.
