A teen got arrested. She is linked to threatening emails. Eight schools received these emails.

The schools are in Northfleet. The emails arrived early yesterday. Some schools closed temporarily, and started lockdown procedures.

Police went to Shears Green Infant School on Packham Road. They got an email before 8 AM containing threats, according to a police speaker.

Officers spoke with school staff and stayed nearby to reassure people. Other borough schools reported similar emails. Police did not think the threat was real, but launched an investigation.

Officers then arrested a girl from Gravesend. She is 17 years old and was arrested for suspected harassment. She is in custody and inquiries continue.

Chief Inspector Will Lay said safety is their priority. They responded fast when reported, though the email seemed unlikely to cause harm.

Lay said many people were concerned and schools were significantly disrupted. An arrest offers reassurance to residents, while the investigation will reveal all details.

It’s unconfirmed which schools received emails, but KentOnline thinks three schools were affected: Shears Green, Lawn, and Copperfield Academy.

The investigation continues now. People with info should contact Kent Police at 01474 366149, quoting reference number 46/24986/25. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555111 or using their online form.
