Teen Fighting for Life After A167 Car Chase Crash near Newton Aycliffe
The date was February 24th. It was super early, around 3:10 AM. Cops were chasing a car with six folks. The car didn’t stop as the officers wanted. The police suspected it was a stolen vehicle. Sadly, five people got hurt in the wreck.
Police arrested all six occupants of the car. Burglary, dangerous driving, and failing to stop were among the charges. A seventeen-year-old was seriously injured. They took the boy to a hospital in Middlesbrough. It’s called James Cook University Hospital. His head injury was considered life-threatening.
As of February 25th, the next day, this remains the case. Police released the six people under investigation. They each are under strict curfews currently. Officers are looking for witnesses to suspicious activity. It occurred on Pemberton Road. This was in Woodham Village early on February 24th.

The ambulance service gave their account, too. They got the call at 3:07 AM that Monday. It reported a road traffic accident. The incident was at St. Cuthbert’s Way and A167. Crews found four patients. These four patients were okay to go. One other person went to James Cook hospital.
They sent two ambulance crews to the scene first. A specialist paramedic showed up next. A clinical team leader came to assist. The air ambulance offered support as well.
