A teenage refugee got a big reaction at a Valentine’s event. The event happened on February 15 at Ipswich Town Hall. Over 350 people danced to music there. Bands played ABBA, Queen, and Caribbean steel drum tunes.

A Kurdish refugee from Ipswich performed at the ball. His name is Daryas, and he is still very young. He sang three traditional songs. George Fothergill assisted Daryas with the music.

DPL Group and Friel organized the Valentine’s ball together. The event raised £8,000 for a local charity. Suffolk Refugee Support benefited. The charity helps refugees in the area.

Suffolk Refugee Support will use the money to help refugees. They will provide food and school uniforms. They will also assist with employment and English lessons. The charity was very grateful for the donation.

Vincent Langley directs DPL Group. He said this ball was the biggest in thirty years. Suffolk Refugee Support was chosen for their community work. Their selection helps show support for struggling people.
