Warrington Council asked permission from itself for a temporary site. It’s for land off Hopwood Street. This is where R.E Forster’s workshop was, near Cockhedge Green.

The plan includes cabins, parking for thirty cars, plus material storage. It’s linked to road work on Winwick Road, part of a bus plan. The temporary site would last one year, hopefully.

The site supports road work on Long Lane and Winwick Road. This is under the council’s bus improvement project. The road work helps buses and improves walking and cycling.

It prioritizes buses headed into the town centre. They will build bus-only lanes near the regular road. Two lanes will stay open for other cars. A new crosswalk is planned on Long Lane. Students at Warrington College will use it.

Traffic lights will get upgrades, improving traffic. These upgrades give buses priority, too. They approved the road project last October. The worksite near Cockhedge Green will run weekdays, 7 AM to 6 PM.

Night shifts might mean 24-hour operation. The site won’t run Saturdays, usually. Weekend or holiday work may happen, sometimes. About 45 staff members will use the site daily. About ten trucks will use the site each day. This will happen outside busy traffic times.
