Alfie Cosimini, a 10-year-old, ran 100km in January. He raised money for the Swings & Smiles charity.

Alfie ran 100 kilometers in January. He faced bad weather doing it; rain, wind, snow, and ice didn’t stop him.
He is a student in Year 6 at Thorngrove School. Alfie raised money for Swings & Smiles, a charity in Thatcham for special needs kids.
Alfie wanted a big challenge, to raise money. He completed his kilometers in two places; Scotland, near Glasgow, was first.
He mostly ran in Wash Common. His headteacher saw him running once when it was snowy and dark; Alfie was out with his mom.
Alfie’s family ran with him: his mom, dad, and brother helped. They split the run into 4km pieces, and even his grandparents joined in, leading on electric bikes.
It was a very hilly route. Alfie felt happy and proud of his achievement when he finished.
He might run 100km again next year. Alfie wants to help another charity, and his school is fundraising for Swings & Smiles this year.
