A tennis club dome bothers some people. It’s in Stockbridge, near Edinburgh. Some think the dome looks like a green zit.

The dome is at The Grange Club. It covers their tennis courts since last fall. Electric fans keep the dome inflated all the time. They create noise and vibrations at night.

Residents say it blocks views, too. It hides historic Georgian buildings, and the noise keeps Keith Hughes awake. He even plans to move away.

Claire Baxter thinks it’s horrendous. Neighbors have discussed it for months now. The Scottish government allowed it, overruling the council.

Andrew Fleming said it benefits the public, citing a lack of indoor courts there. Jacquie Christie is frustrated because her mom struggled for new windows. The dome got approved easily, she said.

The government defends the appeal process, stating that reporters decide based on planning. They must consider all submissions.

A similar issue happened in Beith in 2023. Church bells stopped ringing overnight after one person complained about the noise. Over 1,200 local people signed a petition expressing their desire for the church bell to chime again.
