Tesla cars wrecked in Berlin, Germany, after US incidents following a Trump endorsement. Police suspect a political motive.
Reports started around 1:40 am. Police said unknown people set the fires, and firefighters quickly put them out. Nobody got hurt during the attacks. The investigation continues right now, as Tesla faces protests after Musk joined Trump’s team.
Germany had prior anti-Musk protests following his AfD party endorsement. People targeted Tesla factories there, projecting an image onto a factory that showed Musk making a salute. “Heil Tesla” appeared with the projection.
The US also saw anti-Musk attacks following federal worker layoffs caused by DOGE work. Someone fired shots at a Tesla dealer in Oregon, which was vandalized twice in one week. Police suspect political motives, too.
Massachusetts saw three vandalized Teslas. Two Cybertrucks were spray-painted, and all the tires got damaged. This also harmed a Tesla Model S. Trump recently supported Musk openly, displaying Teslas outside the White House.
Sales are down 45% in Europe, and boycotts target Tesla currently. Trump said he would buy a Tesla, claiming it would support Musk highly. Trump accused leftists of illegally boycotting, though protesting businesses is legal.
Washington also had damaged Teslas. Crews extinguished a car fire there, and one Cybertruck had swastikas painted. A charging station was attacked in South Carolina with Molotov cocktails. “Long Live Ukraine” appeared too.
Earlier, charging stations burned in Massachusetts, and officials called those attacks deliberate. Tesla faces sales declines and boycotts, with some calling this “Tesla takedowns.” Tesla’s stock value fell drastically; a huge chunk got wiped out.
