Thame residents are campaigning for a banking hub after Lloyds closure. A survey shows strong support for the initiative.

Thame wants a banking hub after a cash need review. Link did this review for the community. They said Thame needs a deposit machine instead. It will be at Morrisons after Lloyds closes. Lloyds is closing soon on February 17th.
Lloyds will still be at the Town Hall, but it will not handle deposits. The deposit machine has limited functions. Nationwide stays, but lacks business services. Many worry groups will travel far to bank.
They might have to go to Aylesbury or Oxford. This affects people and businesses. A hub offers more services daily. It has counters for personal and business needs.
Banks would send staff on certain days. They would answer questions in person. Link said Thame is urban within a mile. They ignored the rural area around town.
Villages like Haddenham rely on Thame. The area has a population over 30,000. The Town Council wants a banking hub. They think a hub is better than the machine.
The hub gives more options for everyone. It helps both personal and business clients. Freddie van Mierlo ( local MP) agrees. He says Thame needs good banking services.
Lloyds closing makes a big problem. He thinks the machine can’t fix it. The Post Office is too small for the machine. He believes current plans are not enough. He wants Link to change their decision. He wants them to approve the hub.
